Consultant Coaching: This is a complex questions because there are LOTS of variables that we don't know the answer to yet. It is best to ask more questions such as the following. Don't hesitate if you are unsure how to proceed to screen shot a pic of your convo to your Recruiter/Director for help! I also suggest sending them to your website so they are can see all the new changes in the product line.
Step 1: Immediately have empathy for her experience. "I am so sorry!" "Oh no that stinks!" "I am so sorry that happened" Are good ways to connect before you continue.
Step 2: If she will allow you try to ask questions try to gather more information on her experience.
"Do you mind if I ask how long ago that happened?"
"What type of reaction did you have if you don't mind my asking?"
"Do you have food/ingredient allergies?"
"Did your consultant touch base with you within the first week and then again within the first month to follow up and make sure you had the correct formulation?"
"If you know what ingredients you are allergic too, did you know that MK has a database that I can cross check every product + ingredient so you won't ever have to use that ingredient again!
Step 3: See if she would be willing to try the product again with you. Literally we have had complete formulation changes on almost every product since 2019, so if she tried the product previous to that she hasn't tried the NEW MK!"
"If you would be up for it I would love to show you the NEW MK!"
"We have a new naturally line that you would Love!"
"Have you tried our new Natural line?"
How I built my entire business from one appointment to the next. (the exact way MK herself taught) and why it was never 'necessary' for me to talk to strangers. Many consultants stay at the bottom of Maslow’s Hierarchy stuck at safety and security. Why? They are asked to talk to strangers about Mary Kay. I advocate letting those who ‘naturally’ talk to strangers follow that approach. Turning 1 into 5+ is EASY and safe because you work with people you already met and developed a relationship.
